Wade Hampton Beverly, Jr.

September 9, 1934 - March 13, 2022

Wade Hampton Beverly, Jr., 87, of Bristol, TN passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Wise, VA and was the son of the late Wade H. Beverly, Sr. and Nellie Vowell Beverly. In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his wonderful step mother, Marietta Gilliam, sisters: Jean Farmer, Patty Jennings, Thelma Powers, and Frances Mullins; and his brother, Russell Beverly. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Wade retired after 24 years of service with Purity bakery. He also retired from Wallace Oldsmobile in 2008 after 25 years of service. He was a Mason with King Lodge #461 in Bristol, and Jericho Shriners in Kingsport. Wade was a member of the VFW in Bristol, VA and Disabled American Veterans in Bristol, VA. He attended Liberty Baptist Church. Those left to cherish memories of Wade include his loving wife of 65 years, Adris Marshall Beverly, son, Jeffrey Lee Beverly and his wife Dianah Puckett Beverly, grandson, Jeffrey Lee Beverly, Jr., and his wife Brittany, great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Michael and Zachary Carl Beverly, several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends to share memories on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. A celebration of Wade’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Anderson officiating. A committal service to follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.oakley-cook.com.
