Richard McCoy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard McCoy, age 83, of Bristol, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born on March 16, 1938 in Richlands, VA and was the son of the late William McCoy and Mary (McCoy) Chandler. Richard was a Veteran of the United States Army and a Mason of 54 years at the Zollicoffer Lodge 444 in Bluff City, TN; all whilst a member of Weaver Union Church. Richard is survived by his wife, Eula McCoy, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his two sons and their wives, Wayne and Rebekah McCoy of Troy, Ohio and Darrell and Lora McCoy of Kingsport, TN; his grandchildren, Alexandra McCoy, Megan (McCoy) Brannon, Walker McCoy, and Zachary Taylor; his great-granddaughter, Merida Armentrout; his brother, Howard McCoy of Virginia Beach, VA; his sisters, Letha Houser of Blountville, TN, Laura Wingo of El Paso, Texas and Maxie Meade of Coeburn, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family wants to send a special thanks to friend and neighbor, Jim Jones as well as the staff of Caris Health Care for their wonderful care of Richard. A Committal Service and Entombment will take place at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Cynthia Frye officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the D.A.V. Post #39 and a Masonic Service will be conducted by Lodge #444. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
