Mary Ann Rapp

August 12, 1943 - March 16, 2021

Mary Ann Rapp, 77, of Bristol Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. Mary is proceeded in death by the father of her children, Douglas Wallace; husband, Frank Rapp; parents; Natalie Gruelich and Charles Thompson; brother, Tim Gruelich; son, Timothy Paul Rapp; and nephew, Troy Lee Tackett. Mary was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mary was born in Sandusky Ohio on August 12, 1943. Although she did not complete high-school. She continued her education and received her G.E.D, along with her driver's license at the age of 57. She enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping and of course spending time with her children and grandchildren. She has always been steadfast in her walk with God. She remained active in her local assembly, Holy Church of Truth. Mary is survived by her twin sister, Ruth Ann Tackett and husband Troy of Sandusky, OH; daughters, Sissiy Garza and husband Benny of Markham, TX, her favorite daughter Bridgett Miksik of West Columbia, TX, Ocie Conway and husband Tony of Bristol, TN, Vickie Bellingham and husband Jay of Dillsboro, IN; grandchildren Holly and Michael Moore, Melissa and Alex Galvan, Benny and Shelley Garza, Mychal and Shelby Garza, Thomas and Laura Walther, Steven and Ashley Garza, Tony and Tabitha Conway Jr., LaDonna and Matthew Clappes, Sierra Powers, Shianna Kay, and Christina Jay. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Devin, Gunner, Ariyana, Avanlea, Benny Keith Junior, Zoey, Macey Kate, Jacob, Christopher, MaKailynn, Madelyn, Emmy, and Tony III; special friend of 14 years Quentin Hopson; her best friend of 67 years, Cookie Carol Munoz; sister in God and bestie, Barbara Hawkins and her loving family friend, Sheila Chapman, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Perry Hawkins officiating. The committal and interment will be held at Shipley Cemetery in Bristol, TN following the service. In lieu of flowers, Mary requested Teddy Bears to be collected and donated to local police departments for children in difficult situations. Arrangements especially for Mrs. Rapp and her family have been made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory.
