Mary "Mimi" Lindner Byington

Mary (Mimi) Lindner Byington, age 60, of Blountville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2019. She was born on November 15, 1958 in Athens, TN, a daughter of the late Virgil Jr. and Mozelle Lindner. Mimi was a beloved wife as well as a loving mother and grandmother. She made the choice of serving her country and joined the United States Air Force in 1983 and served through 1987. She lived a full and adventurous life. Mimi had a passion for dogs and for travelling and a love of history. She and her husband, Chris, were fortunate to have lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Alaska and visited several countries. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Chris; son, Ian (Drew) Williams and wife Nicole; daughter, Megan Keys and husband Jason; three granddaughters, Keyaira, Aireanna, and Carrie; three grandsons, Brodie, Randy and Shawn; sisters, Nancy Torrence and Debby Howard; and her fur babies, Sweetie, Guinness, Mischief and Gracie. At Mimi’s request, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smoky Mountain Service Dogs, 110 Tooweka Circle, Loudon, TN 37774 or to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) online at www.DAV.org or by mail to DAV West Knoxville, 1557 Downtown W. Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37919. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Roger McSharry and everyone who cared for Mimi while in ICU2 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
