Kay Broce

Kay Broce, a resident of Bristol since 1935, passed away on February 17, 2022 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born September 14, 1930 in Green Springs, VA to the late Isaac W. and Margaret White Orfield. Her husband of 53 years, James A. Broce, Jr. preceded her in death on April 5, 2004. Kay was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church from 1951 until 1985 when she became a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She remained active at Faith as long as her health permitted. She was employed by S.E. Massengill/ Smithkline Beecham from 1964 until retirement as Bristol Distribution Manager in 1991. She is survived by daughter, Connie Broce and granddaughter, Alicia Nyonneoh-Broce of Bristol; son, Randy Broce and grandson, Craig Osborne and wife, Cathy, all of Greeneville, TN; sister, Frances Dougherty of Bristol and a multitude of much loved nieces and nephews. Kay was also blessed to be an honorary member of the DeBusk, Musser and Reed families. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Dr. David Thompson for many years of compassionate care, Diana Leonard for all the assistance she provided and to her wonderful and thoughtful Country Oaks neighbors. Due to Covid restrictions, the family will have a private memorial service at Heritage Mausoleum Chapel in Glenwood Cemetery followed by entombment.
