George M. Williams Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George M. Williams, 85, of Piney Flats, TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Mr. Williams was born on April 23, 1933 in Marion, Virginia, a son of the late Lewis F. and Emily Suites Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sons, seven brothers and two sisters. Mr. Williams was a long-time member of Piney Flats First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He retired in 2000 after almost fifty years in exterminating business and had repaired clocks since childhood. He was a former member of North Johnson City Business Club and Johnson City Home Builder’s Association. He was musically gifted and played several instruments. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Golding Williams; three children, Julia Williams Kodak and husband, David, of Roan Mountain, TN, John and Steve Williams, both of Bristol, TN; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Jared, and Justin Kodak, Daniel Williams and Emilee Williams; four great grandchildren, Gavin, Natalie, Levi, and Clayton Kodak; one brother, Billy Williams; one sister, Mildred Dalton; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM at Piney Flats First Baptist Church, 100 Cherry Street, Piney Flats, TN. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Dr. Allen Davis officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Shell Cemetery in Piney Flats, TN. Pallbearers will be David Kodak, Joshua Kodak, Jordan Kodak, Jared Kodak, Justin Kodak, and Daniel Williams. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Piney Flats First Baptist Church, 100 Cherry Street, Piney Flats, TN 37686.
