Edward Larry Hill Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Edward Larry “Eddie” Hill, age 76, of Bristol, TN., passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 from complications of an existing medical condition. He was born on October 28, 1945 in Bristol, TN., the son of the late Adolph Eugene and Vivian Foster Hill. Eddie was a loving son, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a graduate of Bristol Tennessee High School, East Tennessee State University, and completed graduate work at the University of Tennessee. His hometown friends and family celebrated his early baseball success. He was drafted out of high school by the Minnesota Twins and later traded to the Cincinnati Reds, realizing a boyhood dream that was inspired by his beloved grandfather, A.B. Hill. Mr. Hill’s professional life began as a regional planner with the Cumberland Plateau Planning District Commission in Virginia. From there he transformed his hobby and passion into an entrepreneurial career as an investment advisor to several companies. Eddie loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong horseman. He enjoyed history, a good book, western movies, SEC football, and storytelling. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Chris and wife Kelly of Edmond, OK; daughters Lauren Myers and husband Mike of Okeechobee, FL, and Randi Edwards and husband David of Aliso Viejo, CA; nine grandchildren; special aunts, Judy Hill of Gulfport, MS and Cora Lee Raccioppo of Bristol, TN.; uncle Bob Foster and wife Jean of Abingdon, VA; brother-in-law, Tom Peters and wife Sandra of Bristol, TN, and several cousins. The family would like to extend special thanks to friends and family of our home church, First Presbyterian Church of Bristol, for faithful care, comfort, and fellowship. The sincere compassion and professionalism of the staff at Ballad Hospice House was a blessing.
