David Lee Phipps

March 15, 1947 - March 26, 2022

David Lee Phipps, 75, of Bristol, TN passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Bristol, VA and was the son of the late Garland and Virginia Phipps. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Kiser. David was a true handyman as he was able to do anything that he put his mind to. Family was everything to him. Our Dad is gone and our world is shattered. He was truly sunshine in human form. He was our safe place as he was our Anchor, our real life Superhero, our one in a million. We will miss his bear hugs, him saying “Hey Babe” when we walked in the room or saying tell the boys and my girl “I Love Them” when hanging up the phone. He will be missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish memories of David include the love of his life for 40 years, Teresa Phipps, daughters: Amy Stinson (Travis), Jamie Phipps (Adam), Tegan Waldron (Jerimi), Tia Phipps (Michael); grandchildren: Kristopher, Kaytlynn, Makayla, Karah, Kainan, Titus, Alanni, Rylee, Solomon, Ezekial, and Tobias (twins); 6 great-grandchildren, and special friend, Pete. The family will honor David’s life during a committal service at Glenwood Cemetery on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Michael Wilson officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the mausoleum chapel by 1:50 pm on Friday. The family asks that donations in memory of David be sent to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
