Clinos "Reed" Mullins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rev. Clinos “Reed” Mullins “Daddy Rev.”, age 85, of Blountville, Tenn., went to be with the LORD on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn. He was born on April 22, 1935, in Clintwood, Va., a son of the late William “Bill” Jennings and Goldie May Stanley Mullins. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Floreen Mullins; brothers, Billy Ray Mullins, Charles Harold Mullins, Ercil Burns Mullins, Mason Jennings Mullins and Noah Lee Mullins. Reed worked as a coal miner and truck driver and went into the Army at the age of 17. After he was discharged, he moved to Northern Virginia working as a welder and machinist for Jensen Manufacturing Company for 21 years. He then went into business for himself until his retirement in 1996. In 1984, Reed and Floreen returned to Bristol and the general area until her death in 2013. In 2017, Reed met Phyllis and they married five months later, moving to Blountville. Reed was saved in 1965 and began preaching in 1968. He was ordained in 1970 and preached and pastored several churches for 58 years in Northern Virginia and our general area. He attended college through Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. Reed and Phyllis had a ministry of visiting nursing homes, individual’s homes and hospitals to visit and pray with others. He was a member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church in Bristol, Va. and a member of the Masters Men. Reed loved to travel, read his Bible, evangelistic preaching and soul winning. He was always there when someone called! He loved the LORD and was always doing his FATHER’S business. He was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, PapPaw and Great PapPaw. He is survived by a loving, grieving, caring and thoughtful wife of three years, Phyllis A. Baldwin Mullins; daughters, Patty Hansen of Victoria, Va., Ferne Godfrey and husband Eric of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Susan Black and husband Jerry of Jonesborough, Tenn.; four granddaughters, Ashley Black Anderson, Lacie Black Jessee, Kelly Godfrey Carlson and Kerry Beth Godfrey Carico; grandson, Sean Jocelyn; three great grandsons, Lincoln Carlson, Winston Carlson, and Ian Anderson; one great granddaughter, Ivanna Anderson; two sisters, Louretta Reed of Stockdale, Ohio and Mary Ann Richardson and husband Doug of Beaver Dam, Va.; brother, Larry Mullins and wife Phyllis of Bluff City, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Melissa R. Smith and husband Tim of Mocksville, N.C. and Angela D. Arwood and husband Jeff of Rosedale, Va.; stepson, Andrew Nichols and wife Pauline of Blountville; seven step granddaughters, Brittany Arwood, Tabby Arwood Robinette, Tosha Arwood Leonard, Kaitlyn Smith Price, Lauren Smith, Cindy Nichols and De Harman; two step grandsons, Adam Smith and Brandon Nichols; four step great grandsons, Dylan Nichols, Brody Anderson, Bryce Anderson and Colton Leonard; one step great granddaughter, Faith Harman; half-brothers and sisters Connie Marie Desilets and husband Duane, Chris Lynn and Wife Kathy, Ronnie Dale Mullins and wife Jenny, Ginger Sue Howell, and Deborah Sharon McComber and husband Greg, Willimetta Bryant and husband Ike, Bobby Joe Mullins, Scott Mullins and wife Donna, and Paula Cochran and husband David; and lots of cousins, nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Va. with Dr. Allen Davis officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 via livestream on Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church’s Facebook page.
